B.TECH Microelectronics
Duration – 4 Years
A subfield of electronics, Microelectronics deals with the designing and manufacturing of very small (micro-level) electronic designs and components made up of semiconductor materials. A microelectronics programme offers candidates with knowledge and experience that’s extremely specialized. Microelectronic programmes are meant for ambitious and highly driven engineering and science students seeking expertise in areas like Processor design, chip design or IC fabrication.
In India, a course in Microelectronics is offered at the postgraduate level. Most colleges offer an MTech or an integrated degree in this field. None of the colleges in India offers a BTech in Microelectronics.
Microelectronics Eligibility and Top Entrance Exams
To pursue a postgraduate degree in Microelectronics, candidates must have completed their BE/ BTech/ MSc or equivalent degree in relevant disciplines, with aggregate marks of at least 60%.
Microelectronics Exams
Since Microelectronics is a part of electronics engineering, there are no particular exams for it at the undergraduate level. However, at the postgraduate level, GATE is one of the most popular exams for admissions to colleges offering MTech in Microelectronics.
