B.TECH Environmental Engineering
Duration – 4 Years
Environmental engineering is a sub-branch of Chemical engineering and Civil engineering that is concerned with natural resource management, the use of water, environmental pollution and human health. It is the study of problems associated with soil, air and water pollution. An environmental engineer is responsible for improving the quality of the environment, and public health and developing solutions to minimise the degradation of natural resources. They devise ways to control pollution, treat wastewater, distribute safe drinking water, manage hazardous waste, etc. It is a branch of engineering which deals with the protection of environment and protect human health by proper intervention with the help of infrastructure and engineering. The major role deals with controlling pollution and suggesting novel methods to control pollution at the source site.
This course prepares candidates to deal with the challenges of pollution and other environmental damages. The professionals are responsible for making in-depth study of situations and suggesting measures to mitigate the damage or control the occurence of future events which pose severe threat to the environment. This course is very popular and relevant in modern times, with every human activity posing threat to environment destruction and contamination. Therefore, many top colleges have opened Department of Environmental Engineering in order to produce effective environment engineers who protect the environment.Â
